Recruitment Time!

Chambersburg Neighborhood's Chapter(NGC) of American Sewing Guild(ASG) is looking for new members!!!

We're 4 persons strong, sensible sewing sisters, encouraging everyone (with or without any sewing machine) to join us on the first Saturday of the month. We have free classes on almost everything related to sewing, applique and quilting etc.

Come visit us at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Commerce Street, Chambersburg, 17201, PA - 10.30am to 3.00pm for a sit-in with our members. I promise it will be a fun afternoon!

The Difference ....

During our first monthly meeting of the year, I discovered the difference between the sizes of ready made garments and sizes of a pattern. Though I am a size 6, I cannot get the same pattern's size of the same; I need to buy a size 14 in pattern!! Yes, I am so shock, just shock. I can't be that big! I am a petite woman of 5 feet tall and 120 lb, I can't be in size 14, that's just ridiculous!. But, after a few minutes of explaining the difference and how to read a pattern (yes, you have to actually read the pattern, plus the instruction carefully before cutting it.), they managed to calm me down.

Thought I know a lot about sewing, think again!!!! We will get together again next month for a fitting, I was asked to bring a pattern with a muslin or gingham fabric to practice on.

For February, a scrap caddy will be our project. I'll post the picture once we're done with it.

Happy New Year!! May it will you prosperity, health and happiness. - Meela
