I have taken a position at a USG outpost over here in Pretoria about a few months back; whew it is very hectic. I have forgotten how it feels like to work outside my home and, to have a "superior" other than my children. Are you asking me why, I started working? As I grew older, I discovered making friends is quite a chore. Joining a club is out of the question because, in Pretoria there are so many cliques; I out grew that when I left high school. My husband suggested for me to go back to work; combed through the ads, went to a few interviews, wrote a few essays, autobiographies, sat on a few more interviews, took a few professional exams and, boom! Here I am in a three-piece suits and, my best pearls on a conference call in my office.
My colleagues are interesting, some I have in common, some not so much. The others are interesting; another were just annoying. Some I could say we are friends; the other are just acquaintances. All in all, things are ok.
Why my title is the week of chaos you asked? We have half of the office are travelling this week and, the other half are in the field or, not available for some reason. Left were the skeleton crew that have to cover all of the angles, with assurance of no leaks in-between. So, been making a lot of over time lately, with a trip to the Mediterranean as the silver lining.
I thanked God for giving me the opportunity to enhance my life with colorful people and, their beautiful minds.
